Gasoline - Inhalation can cause headaches, blurred vision, dizziness <br /> and nausea. <br /> B. Benzene - High energy component of gasoline, usually present in con- <br /> trations between 0.8 - 2.0%. Benzene is a known carcinogen. <br /> C. Xylenes - Flammable and less toxic than benzene: may be narcotic in <br /> high concentrations. <br /> D. Toluene - Flammable, may be narcotic in high concentrations and may <br /> cause mild macrocytic anemia. <br /> E. Diesel and/or Waste Oil <br /> F. TCE <br /> G. Solvents <br /> 3. Personnel Protection Equipment: <br /> A. Appropriate skin protection/clothing (tyvek suits if necessary) <br /> B. Air purifying respirator <br /> C. Hard hat and safety glasses <br /> D. Gloves & Steel toed boots <br /> E. Hearing protection (if necessary) <br /> F. Eye wash and First Aid kits in trucks <br /> 4. Site Control: <br /> A. A T cyclone fence will be installed around excavated area if found to <br /> be contaminated and cannot be backfiled. This may be responsibility of <br /> owner or Placer Tractor Service (please see contract). <br /> 5. Hazardous Waste Management: <br /> A.
