Emergency Action Plan - 29 CFR 1926.35 <br /> Employers are required to plan for emergencies which could occur in their workplaces. The <br /> plan should be in writing except for employers who have less than 10 employees. <br /> An Emergency Action Plan contains the following elements: <br /> • emergency escape procedures <br /> • key employee procedures <br /> • head count procedures <br /> • rescue and medical procedures <br /> • reporting procedures <br /> • designated persons <br /> • alarm (alerting) system <br /> • training <br /> E. Fire Prevention Plan - 29 CFR 1926.151 and 29 CFR 1926.24 <br /> Employers are required to develop, implement and maintain a Fire Prevention Plan (FPP). <br /> The FPP is a fundamental workplace protection program. The plan addresses potential fire <br /> hazards and control measures. The FPP is required to be in place at all phases of the project. <br /> A Fire Prevention Program includes the following elements: <br /> • control of ignition sources (Barricades, warning signs & source testing) <br /> • prohibition of smoking near fire hazard areas <br /> • maintenance of equipment and systems <br /> • the job site will be kept free of accumulations of combustible materials <br /> • piles of combustible materials will be kept at least 10 feet from buildings or structures <br /> • incompatible materials will be stored separately <br /> F. Fire Protection Program - 29 CFR 1926.150 and 29 CFR 1926.24 <br /> Employers are required to have plans for fire prevention and fire protection.
