r
Dispenser Soil Sampling-ort Nd
ARCO Facility No.5569
Stockton,California
Page 2
All soil samples were relinquished to Sequoia Analytical Inc. (Sequoia), a California
Department of Health Services (CADHS) certified lab, for chemical analysis. Delta and
Sequoia adhered to strict chain-of-custody procedures from the time of sample collection
to the time of sample analysis. Soil samples were analyzed for total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHG), benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX)
by USEPA Method 8015/8020 DHS/LUFT and for 5 oxygenates (methyl tertiary butyl
ether [MTBE], tertiary amyl methyl ether [TAME], di-isopropyl ether [DIPE], ethyl
tertiary butyl ether [ETBE], and tertiary butyl alcohol [TBA]) using USEPA Method
8260B and for total lead using USEPA Method 6010. Laboratory analytical results are
presented in Table 1. Certified Analytical Reports and chain-of-custody documentation
are included as Attachment A.
Samples were also collected from 2 stockpiles of fill material (primarily pea gravel)
which had been excavated and removed from around the product lines and underground
storage tanks. Two samples were collected from each stockpile, designated by the Delta
field representative as the East stockpile (ESP) and West stockpile (WSP). The samples
from each stockpile were composited by the laboratory into samples ESP (A,B) and WSP
(A,B). The results of these composite samples are presented in Table 1. Certified
Analytical Reports and chain-of-custody documentation are included as Attachment A.
All product lines were flushed with water following removal as required by San Joaquin
County Public Health Services. The flush water was contained in two 55-gallon steel
drums. The drums will be removed by Dillard Environmental, Inc. and transported to a
proper waste disposal facility.
If you have any questions concerning this report, please contact me at(530) 676-6000.
Sincerely,
DE ENVIR NTAL CONSULTANTS, INC.
ay . o on
C ifo Registered Geologist No. 5867
Project Manager
Attachments Table 1 Soil Analytical Summary
Figure 1 Site Location Map
Figure 2 Site Map
Attachment A Certified Analytical Reports
Chain-of-Custody Documentation
cc: Mr. Paul Supple, Atlantic Richfield Company
\Tront\TRANSFER\arw5569Dispenser Soil Sampling 073100.doc
