i
Please review my approval letter for any other conditions that I missed. Thanks for all of your help.
Raymond von Flue
Lead Sr. REHS, CUPA Programs
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Dept.
1868 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205-6232
(209)468-9848
From: Glenn Owens [mailto:gowens@jonescovey.com]
Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2014 12:51 PM
To: Raymond von Flue [EH]
Cc: Mike Baumgaertel; Bret Covey; Scott Hancock
Subject: Flying 1x`#618 Ripon Biodiesel Project
Hi Ray,
Thanks for getting back to me regarding the Flying J Ripon Biodiesel Project. Per our Conversation;
At your request the drop-tube for the new biodiesel tank will be cut to length and assembled while you are on site. `
f
A 5 gallon spill bucket test is required prior to dropping product into the new biodiesel tank.
All tank top equipment including man-way covers, drop-tube, and spill buckets will be installed prior to the tank ELD
testing.
Once the final ELD test is performed and passed on the new biodiesel tank and the Veeder-Root sensors are on line
(sump and annular), permission will be given from San Joaquin County Environmental Health to drop biodiesel into the
new tank. (ELD testing is scheduled for Thursday the 20th at 7:00am.)This will conclude the required ELD testing for
this project.
The project is moving forward with the existing trunk line connections into the new transition sumps. This will include
cutting the primary and secondary piping and connecting it to the transition piping. A witnessed Primary& Secondary
test will be performed on the product piping prior to bringing this portion of the system back on line through the bypass
piping.Today(3/18/14)the T-1 Diesel tank trunk line is being tied into the new transition sump. Tomorrow(3/19/14)
the T-2 Diesel tank trunk line will be tied into the new transition sump.Thursday(3/20/14)the T-3 Diesel tank trunk line
will be tied into the new transition sump.
After the biodiesel has been dropped and the trunk line connections have been made, the biodiesel system may be
started up, calibrated, and brought on line. r
i
Within approximately a week of placing the system on line a; line test, monitor certification, and final inspection will be
scheduled, performed, and the project completed.
Please review and comment.
z
