o% TLEAK DETECTION
1: r FI ,Y 0 i, R C 1 ± S
Exclusive Providers for MDleak® and PHDleak® Technologies
1400 East Paseo Pavon ® 'T'ucson, \Z 85718 Phonc 855-255-5325 . 1 AX: 520.990.8965
Salcw, LealD2tect.net o urnvv.l.eakI.etecenct
Final ELD Testing Instructions for Owners and Contractors
The state of California requires ELD testing at any facility whenever an Underground Storage Tank
is installed at a new or existing installation. The MDleak* Testing Method developed by Leak
Detection Technologies is the most versatile and flexible testing method in today's market. Owners
and contactors require quick and accurate results that can only be found by using the MDleak*
testing method.
California requires the industries best available technology to test their Underground Storage Tanks
(UST). These regulations help make California one of the nation's cleanest states from uncontrolled
UST releases.
Standard technologies such as pressure testing cannot detect or locate small leaks to California's
standards. Because small leaks can go undetected MDleak® pretesting should be completed before
the final backfilling process is started.
We have completed a check list of expectation to guide the contractor and help make the site
personnel as successful as possible.
Scheduling:
1. LDT offer services throughout California. Therefore it is important that you schedule with us
around the time the tank pit excavation begins.
2. Early scheduling makes for an on time arrival of our crews.
3. Once we have the site scheduled we will contact the contractor by phone two weeks before
the scheduled arrival date to confirm the starting date and again at one week out. Phone 520-
2107-4878, Fax 5210-509-3720, or info@LeakDetect.net
Timing:
1. The State requires the fueling system to be completed before ELD testing can begin.
2. All finished ground surfaces shall be complete over the underground petroleum components
to be tested
3. All electrical and communication cabling including, conduit, conduit connections and covers
shall be complete
4. Spill buckets, fill and vapor adapters, ATG, drop tubes, caps,
5. Vent risers caped
6. Ballasted Tanks; LDT can test tanks that are water of product ballasted. LDT must be notified
in advance if the tanks will be ballasted during the test period. Static ballasted tank do
require additional time to test so when ever possible the contractor should remove all ballast.
Whor David Rabb 1o 2
