However,
Wella shall not extend through laterally extensive clay
laYars that are below the water table and are at least
feet thick. In these situations, the well shall be
terminated 1 to 2 feet into this-010y layer.
(d) Ground water monitoring well easings shall extend to the
bottom of the boring and be factory perforated from a point
1 footabove the bottom of the casing to an elevationdwhich
is elther 10 feet_a_bove the highest antiaated g__ _
level or to the bottom of the surface seal-or to tha ground
surface, whichever is the lowest point above the highest
anticipated ground water level.
(e) Ground water monitoring wells shall be constructed as
filter-packed wells that will prevent the d with factory perforated
the
natural sail into the well an
easing that is sized to prevent migration aC filter material
Into the well.
tiL Gi All well casings shall have a bottom cap or plug.
g) Filter packs shall extend at least 2 feet above the top of
the perforated zone except where the ground surface is less
than 1D feet above the highest ground water level, in which
be
rovidedsthe4filtern
case
ppackywaived t
extends to thetophe lofaagency
the
P
perforated zone.
h) Ground water monitoring wells shall be constructed with
casings having a minimum inside diameter of 2 inches which
is installed in a boring whose diameter is at least 4 inches
greater than the inside diameter of the casing.
4.21
