Adopt new Section to read: <br /> 2647, Ground 'Water Mon Lt rlg-_____- <br /> (a) All owners of existing underground storage tanks <br /> implementing one of the monitoring alternatives in Section <br /> 2641 of this article which requires ground water monitoring <br /> shall implement a ground water monitoring system pursuant to <br /> Subsections (b) through (J) of this section. <br /> (b) All ground water monitoring wells shall be located as close <br /> as possible to the underground storage tank or the perimeter <br /> / of the underground storage tank cluster. <br /> Ground water monitoring Wella shall extend at least 2t feet <br /> below the lowest anticipated ground water level and at least <br /> ,1 fee below the un ergroun storage tank bottom. However, <br /> Wella shall not extend through laterally extensive clay <br /> laYars that are below the water table and are at least <br /> feet thick. In these situations, the well shall be <br /> terminated 1 to 2 feet into this-010y layer. <br /> (d) Ground water monitoring well easings shall extend to the <br /> bottom of the boring and be factory perforated from a point <br /> 1 footabove the bottom of the casing to an elevationdwhich <br /> is elther 10 feet_a_bove the highest antiaated g__ _ <br /> level or to the bottom of the surface seal-or to tha ground <br /> surface, whichever is the lowest point above the highest <br /> anticipated ground water level. <br /> (e) Ground water monitoring wells shall be constructed as <br /> filter-packed wells that will prevent the d with factory perforated <br /> the <br /> natural sail into the well an <br /> easing that is sized to prevent migration aC filter material <br /> Into the well. <br /> tiL Gi All well casings shall have a bottom cap or plug. <br /> g) Filter packs shall extend at least 2 feet above the top of <br /> the perforated zone except where the ground surface is less <br /> than 1D feet above the highest ground water level, in which <br /> be <br /> rovidedsthe4filtern <br /> case <br /> ppackywaived t <br /> extends to thetophe lofaagency <br /> the <br /> P <br /> perforated zone. <br /> h) Ground water monitoring wells shall be constructed with <br /> casings having a minimum inside diameter of 2 inches which <br /> is installed in a boring whose diameter is at least 4 inches <br /> greater than the inside diameter of the casing. <br /> 4.21 <br />
