Hazelton Ave. Attn: Laurie Cotulla <br /> Stockton, Ca 95205 <br /> Re: Final Closure Report for SPRR Diesel Tank Removal/Cleanup <br /> Dear Mr. Hall : <br /> Caltrans is now submitting a Final Closure Report for the excavation <br /> of contaminated soil and permanent closure of one groundwater <br /> monitoring well located at the Crosstown Freeway/Southern Pacific <br /> Transportation site, Stockton , California. <br /> The attached report summarizes procedures used during excavation , <br /> backfilling, and groundwater well removal . All work was done in <br /> accordance with the requirements of the Ban Joaquin Environmental <br /> Health Division of the Local Health District and the Regional Water <br /> Quality Control Board. The procedures were previously agreed to and <br /> inspected by the Local Health District during the actual work phase. <br /> With the submission of this report and the previous completion of work <br /> described therein, Caltrans has completed all obligations previously <br /> agreed to. Caltrans has never accepted any responsibility for the <br /> investigation and cleanup of hazardous waste at the diesel tank site. <br /> Caltrans participation in investigation and cleanup work has been <br /> based solely on the need to facilitate the Crosstown Freeway <br /> Construction schedule. The Southern Pacific Transportation Company <br /> will be notified shortly of all investigation and cleanup activities <br /> at the tank site. Any followup regulatory requirements should be <br /> directed to Southern Pacific Transportation Company. <br /> Please indicate your concurrence with the adequacy of this report and <br /> completion of all required work in writing at your earliest <br /> convenience.
