Thework to be done shall conform to Section 10 "Demolition and Removal " <br /> of the General Specifications and these Special Provisions. <br /> b. The above-described improvements and all materials resulting from their <br /> demolition or removal shall become the property of the contractor and shall be <br /> removed. from the- premises. <br /> c. - Prior to starting demolition operations the contractor shall notify the <br /> utility companies to remove- their service lines. <br /> d. . Prior- to starting demolition operations adjacent to any public way, the <br /> contractor shall erect a protection fence,. <br /> e. Where a protection fence is erected on a public sidewalk a pedestrian <br /> walkway shall. be provided-. The walkway shall be- one-half as wide as the <br /> sidewalk butshall be not less than three feet (31 ) wide- and need not be more <br /> than six feet. (6' ) wide... The- required width of the walkway shall be <br /> unobstructed.. <br /> f.' Protection fences. to be. constructed shall be chain link,. 6-foot minimum <br /> height. Post and- fabric may be salvaged material in a. condition acceptable. to <br /> the Contract Administrator.. <br /> g. <br /> The. contractor- shall excavate pits and sumps and backfill all excavations <br /> resulting from the removal operations in accordance with Section 10.06 of the <br /> General Specifications.. <br /> h. The contractor or his representative shall be on the site at all times . <br /> is The contractor shall not proceed from one item of work to the next until <br /> the previous item is im a nonhazardous condition and all combustible material <br /> has been- removed. <br /> j- <br /> The Contractor authorizes the State to remove partially demolished <br /> structures and/or piles of debris that remain for a period of more than three <br /> working days. The� remova.l work shall be done by the State's Hazard Removal <br /> Contractor under Force Account and the cost shall be deducted from monies due <br /> or to" become due the Contractor. THIS WORK MAY BE DONE WITHOUT" PRIOR <br /> NOTIFICATION TO THE CONTRACTOR. <br /> k: The Contract Administrator reserves the right to search for buried debris <br /> after completion of the demolition operations. If debris is uncovered, the <br /> Contractor agrees to pay to the- State the cost of the exploratory work. <br />
