f <br />AMERICAN CONTAINMENT <br />INSTRUCTIONS FOR INSTALLATION OF A <br />FIBERGLASS CONTAINMENT VESSEL TO A TANK RECEIVER RING <br />• WEAR SAFETY GLASSES AND PARTICAL MASK • <br />•• READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE BEGINNING INSTALLATION •• <br />1. Measure vessel and tank receiver ring for proper fit. <br />2. Sand receiver ring of fiberglass containment vessel with 36 grit <br />sandpaper on exterior and interior surfaces. <br />3. Sand containment ring on tank with 36 grit sandpaper to <br />make outside surface rough and remove any glaze. <br />4. Clean receiver ring and containment ring of sanding dust. <br />5. Set vessel on top of tank with one flat side of vessel facing the incoming pipe. <br />6. Mix fiberglass resin as follows, (NOTE: *DO NOT mix resin until the sanding and <br />placement processes are completed.) Each AC -9 Installation Kit contains enough <br />resin and "mat" for one standard containment vessel installation. <br />A. Wear protective gloves and safety glasses. <br />B. Pour all resin from kit into a clean 1—gallon can. <br />C. Pour all the catalyst from kit into the resin. <br />D. Mix resin and catalyst completely. <br />E. Applay resin to sanded surfaces. <br />NOTE: Temperature will effect "working—time", between 10 and 20 minutes. <br />7. Coat the surfaces with resin beyond the edges of where the fiberglass mat <br />strip will be applied. <br />NOTE: COMPLETE SATURATION is a MUST in steps 8, 9 and 10. <br />8. Apply two layers of six inch mat strip to the inside and outside of the vessel as <br />shown in DETAIL—B. Apply one layer saturate and roll then apply the second layer <br />saturate and roll. Work out ALL bubbles with the roller. <br />9. Apply two layers of six inch mat strip to the outside of the TOPHAT as shown in <br />DETAIL—A. Apply one layer saturate and roll then apply the second layer saturate <br />and roll. Work out ALL bubbles with the roller. <br />10.
