Recordable Releases: Any ornadonie d release from primary containment which Ne UST operator is able to clean up within eight(g)hours after the mleaae w71
detected or should reasonably have been detected,and which does not escape from secondary containment,done not increase the hazard of fire or explosion,and docs
rot cause any deterioration of secondary containment,must be retarded in the facilitys monitoring records. Monitoring records must include:
> The UST operator's name and telephoto number,
> A list of the types,quantities,and concentrations of hazardous substance mimed;
> A description of the actions taken to control and clean up rite chase,
> The madod and location of disposal of the released has irdous substances,and whether a hazardous waste manifest was or Will be used;
> A description of actions taken to repair the UST and to prevent future rchaessi;
> A description of the method used to reactivate interstitial monitoring after replacement or repair of primary containment.
Reportable Releases: Any overfill,spill,or unauthorized release which escapes from secondary containment(or primary containment If na secondary containment
exists),increases rhe hazard of fire or explosion,or rouses any deterioretian of secondary containmenS is a repodable release Reportable releases see also recordable.
Within 24 hours after a reportable release has been detected,of should have been detected,we will notify the local agency administering tho 1.157 program of rhe
release,investigate the release,and take immediate measure to stop the release. If necessary,or ifrequimd by the local agency,rernaming stored product/wares will
be removed from the UST to prevent further release or facilitate corrective actionif an emergency exists,wit will notify the State Circa of Emergency Services.
Within Me(5)Working days of a reportable relcaso,we will submit to the local agency a full written report containing all of the following mforinu on to the extent
that the information is known at the time of filing the report:
> The UST owner's or operator's name and telephone number,
> A list of the types,quantities,and concentrations of hazardous materials relea,ed;
> The approximate date of the release;
> The date on which the release was discovered;
> Tho data on which the tetras was stopped;
> A description of actions taken to control andror stop the release;
> A description of wnmctNc and remedial actions,including investigations which were undertaken and wilt be conducted to determine the nature and extent of
soil,ground water or surface water contamination due to the release:
> The mothod(s)of cleanup implemented to date,proposed cleanup actions,and a schedule for implementing the proposed actions;
> The medod(s)and location(s)of disposal of released hazardous materials and any contaminated soils,groundwater,or surface wator.
> Copies of any hazardous wasp manifests used for off-site transport ofhaurdous wastes associated with clean-up activity:
> A description of proposed methods for any repair or replacement of UST system primary/sacomffiry containment systems:
> A description of additional actions taken to proven;future releases.
We will follow the reporting procedures described above if any of the following conditions occur:
> A recordable unauthorized release can not be cleanest up or is still under investigation within eight($)hours of detection;
> Released hazardous substances are discovered at the UST site or in the aumaueding area:
> Unuatml operating conditions are observed,including cesspit behavior of product dispensing equipment,sudden loss of product,or the imaxplamcd pmacom of
Water in the tank,unless system equipment is found to bo defective and is immediately repaired or replaced.and no leak has occurred:
> Mumu ring results fmm UST system monitoring equipment/mcthods indicate that a release may have occurred,unless the mcollaring equipment is found to be
defective and is immediately repaired,recalibrated,or mplawd,artd additional monitoring does not confirm the initial msulta_
Record RctenHan: Monitoring records and written reports of urcurdwrizcd release,most be maintained on-site(or off-site at a readily available location,if approved
