i 46
Memo From the Desk of LINDA TURKATTE
SENIOR REHS
To: Margaret Lagorio
Date: February 26, 1997
Subject: 3736 S HWY 99
UGT file review
I had a conversation with Don Roek about this site and he said that he had
been told in 1987 that he was done with the tanks at this site. I told him
that I would review the file, which I did today.
Two tanks were removed from the site on 3-18-87. One tank was
nondetect and the other tank, a diesel, showed the following results:
Ss. a
TANK#2 3300ppm 0.6ppm 11ppm 1 89ppm 840ppm
On 5-13-87 the tank pit was over excavated to 14.5' bgs. One sample was
obtained but I could find no results in the file.
On 6-12-87 the tank pit was over excavated to 18' bgs. One sample was
obtained showing the following results:
01 MOW 111
_.
TANK#2 13ppm <0.2ppm 1.2ppm 5.4ppm
RESAMPLE 18'
On 8-7-87 Doug Wilson told them verbally that "no further action was
needed at this time".
It is my opinion that this site should be closed with no further action due to
the very low levels of contamination noted at the site, because
approximately 40 feet of vadose zone exists between the last sample
depth and groundwater, and because the bulk of the contaminated soil has
already been removed from the site.
Please let me know what you think.
