Jaa^nway Jacket Mount
th d Steel Tanks are available with a specially designed manway and
b manway ntain"ment jacket which will accommodate either the 42" or 36"
Sump/Risers Jt has an inner bolt circlg for manway Cover attachment and an
outer bolt circCo sial the manway jacket and attach the Sump/Riser. The
.application, requires that a large circle be cut out of the base of the
Sump/Riser and bolt holes drilled, This application also requires the use of
.,, a Manway Jacket Mount Kit. Refer to the mounting instructions provided
° with this kit for additional informatisri. f.
Compression Fitting Mount -
Jacketed Steel Tanks are available with Sump Mount Fittings which have an
outside threaded body to accommodate an inside threaded compression s
f ring. This design allows any size Sump/Riser to be directly mounted to the
Sump Mount Fitting. Using a 5-1/2" hole saw, cut the required number of
holes in the base of the Sump/Riser. Remove the Sump Mount Fitting
compression rings and place the Sump/Riser base on top of.theSump
Mount Fitting. Then re-install the compression ring using the Compression
Ring Wrench.
Positioning Sump/Risers
Before any holes are cut out of the base of the Sump/Risers, field
calculations need to be made to make sure that any vertical piping which
exits the tank will clear the walls of the Sump/Riser body as well as the
extention which tapers in on the 36" and 42" Sump/Riser. The height of o
the submersible pump riser pipe as well as the outside diameter of the
submersible pump housing need to be taken into consideration. o
Sump/Riser Exits
There are three types of Sump/Riser exits; 1. Contained Pipe Exits, 2.
Non-Contained.Pipe Eats,3. Electrical and Monitoring Conduit Exits. Each
of the.ve exit points is dependent upon the plumbing design within the
or X ump/Riser and the layout design of both the electrical and monitoring
conduit. All pipe or conduit exits are sealed with a gasoline compatible
------------------
rubber seal, called a Uniseal Grommet. Before cutting a hole in the
Sump/Riser wall to accept the grommet make sure the drill points have been
accurately calculated and the right hole saw size has been selected.
vnsseal G:"ommets
Part Number Pipe Sit Hole Saw Size
BS-050 Itar-^-d1/2" 1-1/4"
BS-075 Standard 3/4" 1-1/4"
BS-100 Standard 1" 1-3/4"
BS-150 Standard 1-1/2" 2-1/2"
BS-200 Standard 2" 3"
BS-300 Standard 3" 4"
w- AS-400 Standard 4" 5"
!
