' BANKS & CO
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES OF SUPERVISORS
Each supervisor shall be responsible for maintaining an accident prevention
program and shall adhere to the following requirements as a basic outline to
1 accomplish such.
1 . An on the job training program to instruct employees in proper and safe
work practices. Provide instruction as to possible hazards and removal or
correction of such hazards where applicable to insure greater safety.
2. Conduct frequent inspection of job site, equipment and work practices and
correct any unsafe conditions or procedures.
3. Supervisors shall conduct safety meetings at least once a month. It shall
also be the supervisors responsibility to see that all employees have a
"field" safety meeting at least every ten (10) working days.
' 4. Be sure every employee has read and understands the code of safe
operations and is familiar with the contents of this safety program.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EMPLOYEES
' The employee should be primarily concerned with his or her own safety and
secondly with the safety of other employees and by-stander (or other things)
around them. To insure on the job safety:
' 1 . Know your job, use safe work practices and if you are unsure of any
situation ASK your supervisor for directions. Better to be SAFE than
sorry.
' 2. Understand the goal of each new task you undertake. Ignorance of the job
at hand can prove fatal .
' 3. Be alert to changes in conditions which may affect your or someone else's
safety.
' 4. Inform you supervisor and others around you of a potential hazard, then
take the necessary actions to correct the problem.
' 5. Observe the work of others so that you may obtain a general idea of their
job in relationship to your own. This will help you develop an understan-
ding and awareness for all concerned and help prevent accidents.
6. Participate in safe practices. This isn't just for the employer but for
everyone attention and benefit.
11 SITE SAFETY PLAN
