' BANKS & CO <br /> Disposal : Banks & Co. to load, transport and dispose of hydrocarbon impacted <br /> soils in a permitted landfill facility. Transporters must have <br /> ' current EPA Waste Haulers Certification. Proper manifesting of <br /> wastes will be required before wastes will be allowed to leave the <br /> ' site. <br /> On-site Remediation: Banks & Co. will transport hydrocarbon impacted soils to <br /> designated area on-site. The Owner will conduct the <br /> ' remediation. <br /> Disposal or remediation soil quantities will be based on excavation <br /> dimensions and estimate of in-place volume removed. <br /> 5 SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> 5. 1 SAMPLING PROCEDURES <br /> ' An authorized technician is to affirm that samples received by the <br /> laboratory have not been contaminated or compromised in any way. This plan shall <br /> include guidelines for sample containers, preservatives, storage, and holding <br /> 1 times. <br /> 5.2 CONTAINERS <br /> Field personnel shall collect water samples in glass containers that have <br /> been washed with detergent, rinsed with tap water and distilled deionized water, <br /> and dried at 105 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes before use. Samples requiring <br /> ' volatile organic analysis are collected in 40-mil VOA vials with Teflon-lined <br /> septa. Sample bottles are filled so that no air bubbles pass through the sample <br /> or are trapped in the bottle after sealing. <br /> ' Field personnel shall collect soil samples in glass or 2 1/2-inch diameter <br /> brass sleeves that are advanced in the field by hand-driving or motorized-driving <br /> by a drill rig. The brass sleeves are cleaned in the laboratory before use by <br /> washing with detergent, rinsed with tap water and distilled deionized water, and <br /> air drying. The brass sleeves are sealed in the field with aluminum foil , <br /> plastic caps, and airtight tape. <br /> ' 5.3 EXTRACTION OF SOIL SAMPLES <br /> Soil samples will be removed from 36-inches below the tank bottom or at the <br /> ' discretion of the local enforcing agency. Samples will be collected directly <br /> from the excavated area or from the bucket of the excavator, as safe practices <br /> dictate. <br /> 6 SAFETY SPECIFICATIONS <br /> ' 6. 1 SITE SAFETY <br /> Banks & Co. has the responsibility for the safety of all personnel involved <br /> in the performance of work for each job. Banks & Co. also has the responsibility <br /> 8 SITE SAFETY PLAN <br />
