SITE SAFETY PLAN <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL.uE:AJH <br /> PERMITISERVICk S <br /> SITE MANAGER <br /> Mr. William Irwin of Advanced Environmental Services, Inc., will be designated as the <br /> Site Safety Officer during our on-site involvement with the tank removal project. The <br /> Site Safety Officer will be responsible for the implementation of the Site Safety Plan and <br /> will keep a record of the site activities and control of both the primary work zone and <br /> decontamination zone. <br /> TRAINING CERTIFICATI N <br /> Our Site Safety Officer is currently certified for Hazardous Waste Site Operations, with <br /> training received in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.120. All personnel entering the work <br /> zone will be required to present proof of the above certification. <br /> SITE ORIENTATION MEETING <br /> A meeting will be conducted prior to the commencement of work for the purpose of <br /> discussing work zones, physical and chemical hazards, as well as additional elements of <br /> the Site Safety Plan. The meeting will be conducted by the Site Safety Officer. <br /> HAZARDOUS ASSESSMENT <br /> The primary potential hazards generally include physical hazards inherent in equipment <br /> usage, and chemical, both contact and inhalation. Explosion potential is also a concern. <br /> These concerns and methods for safely guarding against each are discussed separately <br /> below. <br /> PHYSICAL HAZARDS <br /> Hard-hats, safety glasses and steel-toed boots will be worn when working within <br /> the primary and decontamination zones. Work zones will be kept in an orderly <br /> fashion to minimize tripping hazards. <br /> CHEMICAL HAZARDS <br /> The primary chemicals expected during the tank removal project include gasoline, <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene. If significantly contaminated soil is <br /> encountered, additional protective clothing may include Tyvek suits and gloves. <br /> Glove material should consist of one of the following: neoprene, nitril rubber, <br /> butyl rubber, polyvinyl alcohol or Viton.
