Lagorio Letter • • 2
Project Name: Haley Flying Service
Project No.: 374.2
Date: 5/26/2005
fuel, which occurred on the premises occupied by Continental Express (the
current tenant). The impacted soil was removed and placed in 55-gallon drums
for off-site disposal. The point of release was in front of the westerly hangar. A
notation on the incident report indicates additional investigation of the soil will
be needed but there is no evidence to suggest this work was ever undertaken.
Insofar as known, no soil or groundwater sampling of any kind has ever been
completed except in connection with the closed UST.
Site Status
The DTSC has required that a Preliminary Endangerment Assessment (PEA) be
completed before a letter requiring "no further action" can be issued regarding
the Cal-Site listing. The owner of the Property, Dorothy Haley, recently entered
the DTSC's Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP), and we are preparing a Work
Plan for submission to the DTSC that will propose a series of shallow soil
samples and two Geo-Probe borings to investigate the possible presence of
pesticides.
Concurrently, the owner of the Property also desires to clear the requirement for
further investigation imposed by your agency regarding the 2001 surface release.
Please have one of your staff review the file and advise me as to what steps will
be required to clear this matter. If possible, I would like to have Harlin Knoll
assigned to this case. If you have questions, please call me at 569-0293.
Sincerely,
Geo-PhasevintalInc.
Stephen M.
