(Canonie) at <br /> the Southern Pacific Transportation Co. (Southern Pacific) rail yard in <br /> Lodi , California (Figure 1) . This letter summarizes the underground <br /> 1 storage tank removal , and soil sampling associated with the removal of the <br /> tank from the site. The work was performed on February 9, 1988, in accord <br /> with the July 17, 1987, engineering agreement between Canonie and Southern <br /> Pacific. As detailed herein, Canonie considers the tank removal complete. <br /> 1 In response to the California Administrative Code Title 23, Chapter 3, <br /> Water Resources Control Board, Subchapter 16, Underground Storage Tank <br /> 1 Regulations, Canonie was retained by Southern Pacific to remove the <br /> underground storage tanks from many of their California sites. The <br /> activities at Lodi included the removal of one 1000-gallon gasoline tank <br /> and associated soil sampling. <br /> 1 Tank Removal Activities <br /> 1 The activities associated with removal of the gasoline tank consisted of <br /> the following: <br /> 1 o Removed one 1000-gallon gasoline tank (Tank 1, Figure 2) . No holes, <br /> signs of leakage, or overfilling were noted upon removal . The tank <br /> removal procedures are provided in Attachment A. The tank was <br /> manifested and transported by Erickson Trucking, Inc. as hazardous <br /> 1 waste to Erickson, Inc. 's TSD facility, in Richmond, California for <br /> proper disposal . Copies of the certificates of disposal and uniform <br /> hazardous waste manifests are provided in Attachment B. <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br />
