2. <br /> ' 2.0 REMOVAL PROCEDURES <br /> 2. 1 Site Preparation <br /> ' Prior to commencement of operations at the Lodi site, Canonie will provide <br /> or complete the following items: <br /> o File and obtain approval of all permits. <br /> ' o Locate above ground and below ground utilities. <br /> o Contact local officials/regulatory personnel and inform them <br /> regarding removal . <br /> o Secure the site as needed to prevent unauthorized personnel from <br /> entering the active work area. <br /> o Saw cut asphalt and concrete surfaces where necessary. <br /> ' o Review health and safety requirements and locate nearby emergency <br /> medical facilities. <br /> SPTCo. will be responsible for removing all product from the underground <br /> storage tank(s) and product lines. Subsequent to product removal initial <br /> excavation operations will begin and Canonie will inert the tank using dry <br /> ice according to the procedures Outlined in the following sections of this <br /> workplan. <br /> 2.2 Excavation/ReMoval <br /> Subsequent to completing site preparation activities and tank inerting, <br /> excavation operations will commence. The steps for completing excavation <br /> and removal are as follows: <br /> ' o Step - Excavate existing surface materials and soils to expose the <br /> top surface of the tank and man-way entrance. This will also <br /> include excavation of the product supply lines and vents connected <br /> to the tank. All soils will be segregated based on field <br /> observations (i.e. visual contamination and odor) such that clean <br /> and contaminated materials can be stockpiled separately. <br /> CanonteEnviranmental <br />
