Should the rinsate and drill cuttings be
determined to be hazardous wastes, The accumulated rinsate and drill cuttings will be
transported by a State of California licensed hazardous waste hauler (AEMC) under
hazardous waste manifest to a TSD facility for disposal.
Soil samples will be collected using a thin walled Shelby Tube fitted with an internal brass
liner. Soil samples will be collected in advance of the auger drill bit at the head of the
hollow stem auger string. When the desired depth is reached, the Shelby Tube will be fitted
with an internal brass liner and attached to the end of a string of drill pipe. The assembly
will then be lowered through the hollow stem auger string. The Shelby Tube will then be
pushed hydraulically in advance of the auger bit. The Shelby Tube will be advanced
sufficiently so as to completely fill the brass liner with soil, and allow no headspace"in the
brass liner. The Shelby Tube will then be retrieved hydraulically. Following retrieval, the
sample filled brass liner will be removed from the Shelby Tube. Both ends of the brass
liner will be covered with aluminum foil, securely capped with polyethylene end caps, the
end caps taped with silver duct tape, labeled, and placed in an ice chest containing dry ice
and kept frozen for transport to the analytical laboratory for chemical analyses,
rl` 2) Page S
r=,y'Jr'.qtr.'°s.>F'je'slit.i.'s►t:t.aator - -
