OBJECTIVES <br /> It shall be the objective of the Injury Prevention Program <br /> to eliminate personal injury through accident prevention by <br /> the promotion and establishment of the following: <br /> A. Good Housekeeping -- <br /> To minimize personal hazards by maintaining orderly work <br /> sites . <br /> B. Safe Work Procedures -- <br /> To minimize exposure to unexpected events by teaching and <br /> following proven procedures . <br /> C. Safe Working Conditions -- <br /> To minimize the "traps" that may be sprung in the work place <br /> with attention given to providing a low risk environment . <br /> D. Use of Good, Well Maintained Equipment -- <br /> To minimize sudden, unexpected situations; and <br /> E. Control of the contributing factors that lead to accidents. <br /> IMPLEMENTATION <br /> The Designated Safety Manager responsible for implementa- <br /> tion of this Injury Prevention Program is: JACK MENDRIN. <br /> The Safety Manager will conduct monthly safety meetings, <br /> inspections, and one-to-one (personal) dialogue with employees <br /> to improve communications with employees regarding hazardous <br /> or unsafe conditions . <br /> HAZARD IDENTIFICATION <br /> INSPECTIONS: Twice a day inspections will be conducted by <br /> the Safety Manager. Special attention will be given to <br /> machinery. Any defects found during inspections will be recorded <br /> in an inspection log. Inspection logs will be maintained in <br /> a separate file. Follow-up inspections will be made to ensure <br /> any defect has been corrected. Safe practices and procedures <br /> code will be posted at all times. <br /> Very detailed annual Inspections will be conducted by the <br /> Safety Manager and selected employees. These inspections will <br /> be conducted in the same manner as OSHA inspections . An Annual <br /> Records Review will also be conducted by the Safety Manager. <br /> This record review will include, but is not limited to: a) <br /> all accident and injury records for the previous year. b) a <br /> complete review of all worker ' s Compensation claims. c) a review <br /> of all Purchase Orders and MSDS sheets for new hazards in the <br /> work place. In addition to inspecting the work place to identify <br /> existing and potential safety and health problems, the Safety <br /> Manager will speak individually with employees to learn what <br /> 2 <br />
