(Stantec) is forwarding the Quarterly Status Summary Report (QSSR) - Second
Quarter 2012 (2Q12) for ARCO Service Station No. 4932 located at 16 East Harding Way in
Stockton, California (site).
Site Description
The site is located on the corner of East Harding Way and Center Street. The service station is
currently comprised of an AM/PM mini-mart, one 20,000-gallon gasoline underground storage
tank (UST), one 22,000-gallon gasoline UST, associated product lines, and dispensers. A
former service station (Former 76 Unocal Service Station No. 4409, 1502 North EI Dorado) is
located approximately 500 feet (ft) northeast of the site, across East Harding Way.
Environmental investigations are currently being conducted at this location and groundwater
monitoring and sampling are coordinated with both sites. The site is bound to the north by East
Harding Way; beyond which are commercial buildings, to the south by residential buildings;
beyond which is East Willow Road, to the west by North Center Street; beyond which are
commercial buildings, and to the east by commercial buildings; beyond which is EI Dorado
Street. The majority of the subject property is paved asphalt and concrete. The nearest open
body of water is Yosemite Lake, located approximately 3,300 ft to the east.
Prior to 2005, 'shallow' and 'deep' were used to identify the groundwater monitoring zones for
wells completed to depths ranging from 35 to 41.5 ft below ground surface (bgs) (MW-1 through
MW-11 and EW-1 through EW-7) and 80 to 82 ft bgs (DMW-1 through DMW-3), respectively.
However, three deep wells were installed during November 2004 and April 2005 on the Former
76 site. Each well was completed to a depth of approximately 120 ft bgs, which is below the
previously termed 'deep' groundwater monitoring zone; therefore, 'shallow' and 'deep' are no
longer used to describe the groundwater monitoring zones and instead A zone, B zone, and
C zone are used. With the addition of new wells (DMW-4 through DMW-7, DMW-9, and
4932 QSSR 2Q12.doc 1
