' ARCO Products Company Is 0 3
ARCO Service Station #4932, 16 E Harding Blvd Stockton, CA March 24, 2000
. be constructed of 4 -inch diameter schedule 40 PVC pipe and will be
screened from approximately 5 to 40 feet bgs
•
• SVE Well Installation. One soil vapor extraction well will be
installed at the location shown on Figure 2 The well will be installed
to a depth of approximately 30 feet bgs using 8 -inch diameter hollow -
stem augers The well will be constructed of a 2 -inch diameter
schedule 40 PVC pipe and will be screened from approximately 5 to
30 feet bgs (dependent on depth to groundwater)
• Permitting The applicable permits for groundwater monitoring and
soil vapor extraction wells will be obtained from the SJCEHD prior
to drilling
• Soil Selection and Analysis. Soil samples will be collected at 5 -foot
intervals and will be sent under chain -of -custody procedures to a
California State -certified laboratory Selected soil samples will be
analyzed for total petroleum hydrocarbons calculated as gasoline
(TPHg) using modified EPA Method 8015, and benzene, toluene,
ethylbenzene, xylenes, MtBE using EPA Method 8020 Additionally,
selected soil samples, including the sample collected from the capillary
fringe in each boring, will be analyzed for MtBE, DIPE, TAME, EtBE,
TBA, 1,2 DCA, and EDB by EPA Method 8260
• Monitoring Well Development and Sampling. After installation,
the monitoring wells will be developed by rigorously surging the
well over the length of the screen interval and by purging
approximately 10 casing volumes of water After well development,
groundwater samples will be collected and sent to a California
Certified Laboratory (Sequoia Analytical) The groundwater samples
will be analyzed for TPHg using modified EPA Method 8015, BTEX
and MtBE using EPA Method 8020, and fuel oxygenates MtBE,
DIPE, TAME, EtBE, TBA, 1,2 DCA, and EDB by EPA 8260
• Well Surveying. Upon completion of well construction, the wells will
be surveyed by a licensed surveyor to a local benchmark relative to
mean sea level Groundwater gradient will be interpreted utilizing
wellhead elevations and depth -to -water measurements
• Well Search. A 112 -mile radius well search will be performed to
evaluate potential sensitive receptors in the area of the site The survey
will include review of DWR files and discussion with the local water
purveyor
077 41983 310lWPLAN2 doe
