the four discrete random samples were analyzed for semi-volatile organic compounds by <br /> EPA Method 8270. This test method includes analysis for PNAs. A summary of the <br /> laboratory results are provided in Table 2 and copies of the laboratory data are included in <br /> Appendix E. <br /> 5. As noted in Table 2, residual concentrations of semi-volatile organic compounds are <br /> present in the shallow soils. The concentrations are equal to or less than concentrations <br /> present in the original wood materials. The waste characterization initially performed on <br /> the wood materials indicated they were non-hazardous,based on laboratory results for <br /> cresols and pentachlorophenol by TCLP, total and soluble metals, and aquatic toxicity. <br /> Soils remaining at the site would also be expected to be non-hazardous relative to those <br /> compounds originating from the temporary stockpiling of wood materials, based on the <br /> original waste characterization of the wood materials, and further action should not be <br /> required. <br /> 7 <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL SOLUTIONS <br />
