If an earthquake strikes and you are indoors, attempt to take cover <br />under a heavy desk or table. If there is no strong desk or table, <br />move away from windows and brace yourself under a doorframe or <br />against an inside wall. Protect your head and neck. <br />7.1.2. Employees exposed to potential chemical splash should <br />immediately exit that area. <br />7.1.3. If an earthquake strikes and you are outdoors, STAY OUTSIDE. <br />Move to an open area away from buildings. <br />7.1.4. Resist the urge to panic, do not be surprised if the fire alarm <br />system begins ringing or the sprinkler system is activated. <br />7.1.5. After the earthquake, make sure you and those around you are <br />unharmed. Check for injuries. <br />7.1.5.1.Notifv the Emergency Response Coordinator by dialing 9- <br />824-1166 if any employee is injured. Be prepared to provide <br />the following information: <br />• Injured employee's name. <br />• Your name. <br />• Extent of injury. <br />• Location of injured employee. <br />NOTE: During after hours (before 8:00 am and after 5.00 am) Dial 9- <br />911 to report an earthquake. <br />7.1.5.2.lf the telephones are out of order, advise the nearest <br />Supervisor or ERT Member so that a 'runner' can be sent to <br />contact the ERC. <br />7.1.6. After an earthquake, evacuate the facility in accordance with the <br />evacuation plan in Section 8.0. Be prepared for aftershocks. <br />Listen to the ERC for further instructions. <br />7.2. Emergency Response Coordinators <br />
