-.Advanced Interconnect Technologies
Emergency Response Plan
Page 25
APPENDIX B (cont.)
SPILL CONTROL EQUIPMENT
• Spill Kits (Lab Safety Supply No. YB-2591 are provided at several
locations within the facility shown on Map 2. This equipment is
provided in an effort to reduce the extent of a liquid chemical spill.
Included in the kits are various absorbent pads and pillows along with
a couple disposal bags for holding contaminated absorbent material.
Each kit also contains a pair of goggles and gloves for potential spills
in the area.
* The absorbent material provided is a high sorption capacity
material which will soak up to eight times its weight and can be
used for acids, bases, solvents and lubricants.
* The sorbent is an inert material that will not deteriorate in harsh
chemicals including sulfuric, hydrochloric and hydrofluoric acid.
• Broom and Plastic Dust Plan are provided in the Dry Chemical
Warehouse to cleanup and reduce the extent of dry chemical spills. If
possible, collected spilled materials will be used in the anodization
process baths rather than disposed off-site.
* The dust pan should enable an employee to adequately cleanup a
dry chemical without physical contact with the chemical.
