30 May 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 97-0372
The drilling log for the California Water Service well on the adjacent site shows yellow clay from
near surface to 26 feet below surface grade(bsg); from 26 feet to 30 feet bsg the log shows boulders.
The boulders, if present on the subject property, may make obtaining a grab ground water samples
difficult. A cemented sand occurs from 30 feet to 41 feet bsg. The cemented sand is underlain by
blue sand and mixed clay and sand from 41 feet bsg to 71 feet bsg.Blue sand, clay and sand boulders
occur from 71 feet to 98 feet bsg. A sticky blue sandy clay lies at 98 feet to 103 feet bsg, and a sticky
clay lies between 103 feet and 128 feet bsg. The rest of the drillers log is included in Appendix A.
The well is perforated from 136 feet to 472 feet bsg.
2.3. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION
The estimated depth to ground water at the property is approximately 30 to 40 feet below surface
grade (bsg),based on the map titled Lines of Equal Depth to Groundwater Fall 1998 published by
the San Joaquin County Flood Control District and Water Conservation District (FCD&WCD). The
map titled Lines of Equal Elevation of Groundwater Fall 1998, also published by the FCD&WCD,
shows the local groundwater flow to be toward the east-northeast on the property, but this may be
greatly modified by local recharge and discharge patterns. Static water level was measured in the
inactive California Water Service well on the adjacent property in April 2000 at 30 feet bsg.
Groundwater is considered to be of beneficial use and is used for domestic, industrial and
commercial purposes.
2.4. SITE USAGE
As noted above, the subject site has been utilized as a circuit board manufacturing facility. Prior to
the occupancy of RV Circuits, the site was utilized an auto body shop and for residential purposes.
The northern portion of the existing building was utilized by RV Circuits for photography and film,
office and business space, the southern half was utilized for plant maintenance, processes related to
the manufacturing of circuit boards, and chemical and equipment storage. The covered,
concrete-floored area south of the building was utilized for the waste water treatment facility and for
chemical storage. The asphalt-paved area east of the southern half of the building was utilized for
above-ground tank storage of treated water and manufacturing chemicals.
Review of RV Circuits' Material Data Safety Sheets found in binders in the building identified the
following processes conducted and materials utilized for the processes during the manufacture of the
circuit boards:
Advanced GcoEnNironnlent9l,Inc
