According to Mr. Novak, this waste is swept up with the floor sweeping compound and put in
the trash. Residue and small amounts of white powder was observed in the trash cans throughout the facility.
Hazardous wastes shall be disposed of only by transportation to a permitted hazardous waste treatment, storage, and
disposal facility (TSDF). Immediately cease disposal of hazardous waste to the trash and ensure that all future waste
is hauled by a licensed hazardous waste transporter to a permitted TSDF.
This is a Class I violation.
203 HSC 25189.5(c)Transported or caused transportation of hazardous waste to an unauthorized point.
Two 55 gallon white poly drums of liquid were observed in the yard storage area behind the facility. One of the drums
was labeled "cor. liq. 8/17/15." According to Ms. Hardy, these drums of liquid were"brought back from a customer by
mistake"and will be disposed of as hazardous waste. Ms. Hardy explained that empty containers are sent back to
this facility for cleaning and reuse, and that during pick up of these empty drums, they occasionally pick up drums
being used by their customers for waste storage, which is then driven back to this facility. This facility does not have
a permit to receive off-site hazardous waste. Transportation of hazardous waste shall only be to a facility that has a
valid permit issued by the Department of Toxic Substances Control to receive hazardous waste. Immediately ensure
that all transportation of hazardous wastes is to properly licensed facilities.
This is a Class II violation.
Received by Inspector: Phone: Date:
(initial): / STACY RIVERA, Senior REHS (209)468-3440 10/30/2015
Page 9 of 14
