Sierra Chemical Co. <br /> Hazardous Waste Management Plan <br /> Table 1 <br /> Generator Category Amount of Hazardous Amount of Acute Amount of Residue or <br /> (Hazardous Waste) Waste Generated in a Hazardous Waste Contaminated Debris from a <br /> Month Generated in a Month Spill of Acute Hazardous <br /> Waste <br /> Conditionally Exempt Small <100 kg or<220 lbs <1 kg or<2.2 lbs <100 kg or<220 lbs <br /> Quantity Generator(CESQG) <br /> Small Quantity Generator <1000 kg or<2200 lbs <1 kg or 2.2 lbs <100 kg or<220 lbs <br /> (SQG) <br /> Large Quantity Generator 2 1000 kg or>_22001bs >1 kg or<2.2 lbs 2 100 kg or<220 lbs <br /> (LQG) <br /> Generator Category Amount of Universal <br /> (Universal Waste) Waste Generated in a <br /> Year <br /> Small Quantity Handlers of <5000 kg of or<111000 <br /> Universal Waste(SQHUW) lbs <br /> Large Quantity Handlers of 2 5000 kg or z 110000 lbs <br /> Universal Waste(LQHUW) <br /> 4.1 Requirements <br /> By operating as an LOG of hazardous waste, Sierra Chemical Co. must comply with the regulations <br /> defined in 22 CCR Division 4.5 and in 40 CFR section 261: <br /> • Make hazardous waste determinations on all solid wastes and maintain those records for at <br /> least three(3)years from the date the waste was last shipped; <br /> • Obtain an EPA Identification number; <br /> • Use a manifest for all off-site shipments of hazardous waste; <br /> • Mark and label each container of hazardous waste with appropriate labels including the words <br /> "hazardous waste" and any other words that describe the contents <br /> • Not accumulate waste on site for more than 90 days, unless in a designated satellite <br /> accumulation area (see Section 5.0 of this plan); <br /> • Place the waste in appropriate containers,tanks, drip pans or containment buildings (see <br /> Section 5.0 of this plan); <br /> • Establish and document emergency preparedness procedures and contingency plans (see <br /> section 10.0 of this plan); <br /> • Conduct annual hazardous waste management training for those employees who handle and <br /> manage the handling of hazardous waste (see section 9.0 of this plan); and <br /> • Perform weekly inspections of the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> By operating as an SQHUW of Universal Waste,Sierra Chemical Co. must comply with the regulations set <br /> forth in 22 CCR Division 4.5 and 40 CFR section 261: <br /> • Store universal waste in containers or packages that are structurally sound and adequate to <br /> prevent breakage; <br /> • Select containers compatible with the universal waste; <br /> • Ensure containers are closed except when adding or removing waste; <br /> Prepared By: Issue date: Replaces: Page: <br /> ACT Environmental Services, Inc.
