A 55 gallon black steel drum of liquid paint waste was observed without a hazardous waste label. All <br /> hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> 1. the words "Hazardous Waste" <br /> 2. name and address of generator <br /> 3. hazardous properties (flammable, corrosive, reactive, toxic) <br /> 4. physical state (liquid, solid) <br /> 5. composition (contents) <br /> 6. accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all <br /> the required information. 00Yr?r4r i( OI? 4,_0 <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> 79. Used fluorescent bulbs were observed stored in an open top, cut 55 gallon drum. Universal waste <br /> lamps shall be contained in a closed container or package that is structurally sound, adequate to prevent <br /> breakage, and compatible with the contents of the lamp. Immediately containerize all universal waste <br /> fluorescent lamps/bulbs in accordance with Title 22 regulations. <br /> REPEAT VIOLATION <br /> Notice to Comply - Minor violations: (7, 15, 67, 83) <br /> 7. Chemical stripper is being hauled as non-hazardous, designated waste with the rinse water. Used <br /> absorbent and rags contaminated with paint wastes are being disposed of as non-hazardous. Any <br /> person who generates a waste shall determine if the waste is a hazardous waste. Immediately stop <br /> disposal of these wastes, make a hazardous waste determination for the chemical stripper and paint <br /> related solid wastes, and manage them according the Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Particles <br /> 100 microns or smaller must be handled as hazardous waste if the metal is determined to be a <br /> hazardous waste. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining how this waste was <br /> managed by July 23, 2011. <br /> ALL EHD STAFF TIME ASSOCIATED WITH FAILING TO COMPLY BY THE ABOVE NOTED DATES WILL BE BILLED AT THE CURRENT HOURLY RATE($122). <br /> THIS FACILITY SUBJECT TO REINSPECTION AT ANY TIME AT EHD'S CURRENT HOURLY RATE. <br /> EHD Inspector Received By: Title: <br /> EHD 2302 Rev 0110/10 CONTINUATION FORM <br />
