Waste <br /> aerosol cans shall be accumulated in containers. Immediately place these waste aerosol cans in a structurally <br /> sound, compatible container. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 710 HSC 25201.16(h)(4) No written operating procedure for aerosol can processing. <br /> Aerosol cans are punctured and drained and no operating procedures have been developed and implemented. Aerosol <br /> cans may be processed only if a universal waste handler ensures that the processing operations are performed safely <br /> by developing and implementing a written operating procedure detailing the safe processing of aerosol cans. This <br /> procedure shall, at a minimum, include all of the following: <br /> -type of equipment used to process the aerosol cans <br /> -operation and maintenance of the unit <br /> -segregation of incompatible wastes <br /> - proper waste management practices, including ensuring that flammable wastes are stored away from heat and <br /> open flames <br /> -waste characterization <br /> Immediately develop and implement a written operating procedure for the processing of aerosol cans. Submit a copy <br /> to the EHD. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 711 HSC 25201.160) Failed to submit or amend notification for aerosol can processing. <br /> The facility punctures holes in aerosol cans of different waste such as pesticides(hornet and wasp killer) and lube oil <br /> and not just paint aerosol cans, and an amended notification was not submitted to the EHD. Within 30 days of a <br /> change in any of the information submitted, an amended notification for the processing of aerosol cans shall be <br /> submitted to the EHD in person or by certified mail, with return receipt requested.
