The tasks
included in the work are: (1) to determine the extent of the
contamination in the pond, and the necessary cleanup operations, and
(2) to prevent the future recontamination of the pond.
At the direction of Alan Biederman, San Joaquin County Health, EMCON
spoke with David Carls of the Environmental Health Division, San
Joaquin Local Health District. Based on our conversation, we
understand that Mr. Carls will act as the lead for the pond assessment
and cleanup activities. During a subsequent telephone conversation on
May 4, 1988, Mr. Carls stated that Ms. Antonia Vorster of the Regional
Water quality Control Board should also be notified of the work on the
pond. A copy of the telephone conversation with Mr. Carls is
enclosed.
Mr. Carls sent us the enclosed Site Cleanup Assessment Plan
Requirements which identify the items to be covered by the sampling
and analysis plan. Mr. Carls asks that the plan be submitted to him
for approval before starting work on the pond. EMCON intends to
submit the assessment plan no later than mid-June.
An Authorization to Release Analytical Results, sent by Mr. Carls, is
also enclosed. Please sign this document where indicated and send to
David Carls at the address shown on the form. EMCON would appreciate
a copy of the signed documl The purpose of this document is to
insure to the health district that EMCON has been authorized to send
future analytical results for the pond assessment to the health
district.
1921 Ringwood Avenue, San Jose, California 95131, (408)Z75-1444
