0 0
5. Estimate remaining service life of tank 22CCR466265 192(k)(11)
Response: The age of the tank was estimated to be approximately 7 years old in the 2009
report. The steel tank is used to store `Used Oil'. Used oil is compatible with steel.
Based on this information, the estimated remaining service life of the tank system could
be as long as 20 years providing the tank system is inspected, operated, tested,
maintained and repaired as necessary in order to meet requirements of good engineering
practices and industry standards.
6. Test tank system integrity and document test results in the hazardous waste tank
assessment report, 22CCM66265 192(10)
Response: The tank has unique top opening and because of this unusual design, locating
a qualified tank integrity testing contractor that uses the pressure decay methodology or
similar technique has been problematic. At present, contractors that can perform the tank
integrity test are being sought after, in State as well as from out of the State. Tank
integrity testing is considered work in progress. Once the tank testing is complete the
results will be submitted to San Joaquin County, Environmental Health Department and
included as an amendment to the Residential Used Oil Tank Assessment Report. The
expected completion date for testing the tank and submitting the results is June 8, 2012.
CERTIFICATION
The Hazardous Waste Oil Tank Assessment Report was reviewed and certified by an
independent, qualified, professional engineer, registered in California.
