Turner Rd., Lodi
RE: Soil Remediation Workplan
We still propose to take five soil samples - one at the
bottom and one at each of the four side walls of the
excavation. However, we propose that the San Joaquin Local
Health District representative have the authority to modify
the number of tests on each sample. If, for example, the
BTXE in a side wall sample tests below action levels, we
propose that the representative dispense with one or more of
the other tests on that sample, as the soil would have a
high probability of being clean.
2. Based on the results of the mobile lab's analysis of the
soil, the volume of soil removed may be somewhat less that
originally contemplated. We estimate that we will remove
between 170 and 300 cu. yd. total dirt, including 130 to 200
cu.yd. clean dirt and 90 to 100 cu. yd. contaminated dirt.
Attached are modified drawings of the East-West and North-
South elevations showing the estimated area of the proposed
excavation.
3. Once again referring to our letter of 1/19/89 : Item 7: When
addressing the matter of the soil aereation , we will
aereate the soil until contaminants test below acceptable
levels.
If necessary, please put this letter on priority review so that
we can begin coordinating the excavation as soon as possible.
We are prepared to implement this modified workplan upon approval
by your office.
/tpuru truly,
*AinistrativeiMarager Manild
cc: , Harlin Knoll
