7. In the event of a spill of a known or suspected hazardous substance, <br /> try to contain the spill . Procedures for responding to a spill involving <br /> a non-vehicle related hazardous substance are in Sections 5C, 5D, 5E and <br /> 5!l of this plan. Response to transportation-related spills are in Section <br /> 5F and 5G. <br /> 8. If water pipes are damaged, shut off the supply at the main valve. In <br /> addition to drinking water stored in emergency supplies, water may be <br /> obtained from such sources as hot water tanks, toilet tanks, and melted <br /> ice cubes. <br /> 9. If electrical wiring is shorting out, de-energize power source at the main <br /> service panel . <br /> 10. All PGandE personnel will cooperate with local emergency response <br /> officials, and follow their directions in relation to conditions existing <br /> in the community (e.g. , streets clogged by debris, downed wires, and <br /> broken roadways) . <br /> 5-39 <br />
