A exclusion zone will be <br />established approximately 10 feet around excavation work areas. No unauthorized person shall be <br />allowed within this exclusion area. <br />4.0. Hydrocarbon fuels - Components of fuels are colorless liquids with strong aromatic <br />petroleum hydrocarbon -like odors. They are flammable and have low solubility in water. <br />Exposure to these materials in excess of recommended exposure limits can cause mild eye, <br />nose, and throat irritation and can produce a narcotic effect on the central nervous system. <br />Symptoms of exposure at these concentrations include headache, nausea, drowsiness, <br />dizziness, and loss of coordination. Certain components of gasoline (BTE&X etc.) are known <br />or suspected carcinogens. <br />The additional potential hazards include: Slip -trip -fall hazards, noise. heayy equipment (i.e... <br />backhoe. loader. crane). vibration hazards. traffic hazards. etc. <br />Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc. <br />
