Installation Instructions
Pre-Installation
Before installation of the TC-3000 Leak Detection System begins, it should be first determined that
the proper cable lengths have been specified and delivered. It is necessary that all applicable elec-
trical standards be followed, and to comply with the electrical and safety code having jurisdiction in
the local area.
Monitor Location
The monitor should be mounted in a readily accessible location where power is available and alarm
lights are clearly visible. Secure the cabinet by screws or bolts through the mounting slots to a perma-
nent position, free from vibration and away from extremely hazardous areas.
Conduit Installation
A conduit system is recommended to protect the ~Gap
cables between monitoring stations. All conduit
should be 11/2". Connections are made at the
monitoring well using a 3" to 11/2" Cross Fitting
(Illustration 1). The cross fitting should be
covered by a "cable access manhole." (Cross UJLL
Fittings are supplied with Tank Jackets only.)
Conduit
Cross FittingIllustration 1
1. Run 11/2" conduit from the monitor to the first monitoring station and connect it into the cross
fitting. (Slow Bends should be used to avoid 900 or 450 fittings.)
2. Run conduit from the first monitoring station to the second and so on. -
3. All conduit connections should be water-tight.
4. Before any cable is installed, the conduit system should be complete and backfilled.
—9—
