3.0 WORK DESCRIPTION <br /> Work at this site consists of UST Removals. <br /> Phase II EVR Upgrade Project Scope of Work: <br /> 1. Site set up: notify Dig Alert, secure work area with fence and caution tape, <br /> place fire extinguisher and post no smoking signs. <br /> 2. The existing fuel system consists of the following major components: <br /> a. One (1) 15,000 gallon gasoline tank and two (2) 12,000-gallon <br /> gasoline underground storage tanks (UST's). <br /> b. Existing product piping consists of 2-inch primary and 3-inch <br /> secondary fiberglass systems. <br /> c. Aboveground vent pipe is 2-inch diameter steel. <br /> d. Ten (10) dispensers. <br /> 3. Excavation requires soil sampling and analysis in accordance with the <br /> guidelines set forth by the Environmental Health Department of San <br /> Joaquin County. <br /> 4. Ice and inert the UST's pre-demolition. <br /> 5. Triple rinse and degas the UST's and product lines. <br /> 6. Remove the UST fuel system and all associated piping. <br /> 7. Provide crane to remove and load UST's. <br /> 8. Haul and dispose of UST's to an approved disposal facility. <br /> 9. Backfill the excavation to finished grade. <br /> 10.All contractor employees, including management, and the contractor's <br /> subcontractor's employees working on site shall be Hazwoper trained and <br /> required by OSHA. <br /> Health and Safety Plan Page 4 <br />
