(PSI) is pleased to submit results for SB -989 testing
activities performed at above -referenced site. Yellow Roadway Corporation (YRC) (formerly
.. Yellow Transportation Incorporated) (YTI) has successfully performed, completed, and passed
all required SB -989 testing procedures for the seven (7) existing active UST systems operated
at the referent site.
Project History
In December of 2002, SB -989 testing was performed on all LISTS at the project site (testing
performed by Shirley Environmental). The referent testing produced failures, pertaining to the
existing sump penetration components.
In January, 2003, YRC (YTI) commissioned Shirley Environmental to complete the
repairs/upgrades necessary to achieve compliance with SB -989 testing requirements.
In the following months Shirley Environmental proposed a series of non-destructive sump
repairs, including Unit Liner sump repair sealant and sump piping and conduit penetration split
repair boots.
In November, 2003, San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department (SJCEHD)
concluded that the products proposed for the non-destructive sump repairs were not currently
UL listed, and therefore not approved.
In December, 2003, YRC (YTI) retained PSI to further investigate alternative non-destructive
solutions for achieving compliance with SB -989 testing requirements, and SJCEHD
requirements for UL listed products.
Professional Service Industries, Inc. • 3960 Gilman Street • Long Beach, CA 90815 • Phone 562/597-3977 • Fax 562/597-8459
