(PSI) is pleased to submit this permit application to
conduct UST upgrade and SB -989 testing activities at the above -referenced site. PSI
has been retained by Yellow Roadway Corporation (YRC) to upgrade and test the
existing UST systems located at the YRC facility in Tracy, California.
Yellow Roadway Corporation has expressed interest in beginning the UST upgrade and
SB -989 testing activities as soon as possible, in order to meet UST compliance and
testing requirements.
Project History
PSI has inspected each of the seven (7) existing UST systems at the above -referenced
property. Each of the seven (7) existing USTs is a suction (non -pressurized) system,
with above -ground suction, piston, or rotary pumping systems. Each of the seven (7)
existing USTs is used for the storage, dispensing, and/or recovery of automotive fluids
(motor oil, gear oil, anti -freeze, detergent, waste oil, etc.)
Inspection of the UST piping sumps and installation records indicated that penetration
grommet rings were used on each electrical conduit sump penetration.
Smith -Fiberglass 2 -piece FRP sump penetration adapters were used on each of the
Product primary/secondary piping penetration. YRC records indicate that previously
scheduled SB -989 testing attempts were cancelled (failed) following subsequent visual
inspection of the electrical conduit sump penetrations.
Professional Service Industries, Inc. • 3960 Gilman Street • Long Beach, CA 90815 • Phone 562/597-3977 • Fax 562/597-8459
