4. A safety person must be available to assist (lac .l'echniciatt at all titnes. This person <br /> `. must be clean shaven (fir respirator) and able to speak English. This person must have <br /> no other duties other than assisting and monitoring the Techrtician. This person is <br /> supplied by the owner or contractor. The same sataty person should be assigned cacti <br /> day. This Will minimize the time required instrucling the safety pa-son on proper <br /> procedures and policies. <br /> NOTE. The ,safety person MUST have completed 40 HOURS OF TRAINING IN <br /> TILE FIELD APPLICATIONS OF HEALTU AND SAFr4,]'V IN COMPLIANCE <br /> WITH OSHA 29 CPR 1910.120 (HAZWOPER). <br /> 5, A'o T'rrel deliveries can be inade to any (atilt onsite while the 1"echnician is inside a <br /> tank. <br /> G. when tank entry is required by the Techatician. a person trained in C:PR mw;t be <br /> beside the entry hole at all times when the Technician is inside the tank. 'This person <br /> is in addition to the safety person. If one.is not available fixnn the contracting crew. <br /> an off duty fireman, nurse, EMT, or equivalent is acceptable. Besides administecing <br /> CPR, the person will assist the safety person should an emergency rescue be required. <br /> 7. Out,Technician will perform an air/soap tightness test confirming his repairs to the <br /> exterior of tank. and possibly identify any other poleutial problems on the exposed <br /> areas of the tattle. All efforts must be made to isolate. disconnect, or plug all the piping <br /> on tank. if this test is done, and at a later date another problem with the tank is <br /> identified, it will he the financial responsibility of the owner or contractor to schedule <br /> a return trip to the site. <br /> R. It is important that the contractor or owner contact the appropriate local and state <br /> authorities lbr regulations concerning the jobsitc. Jobsite permits may need to be <br /> obtained for the excavtttion or remanufactilre of the tank. Permils rrrusi be abtained <br /> by tine owner/contractor prior to our arrh al. Rek;ulatians governing testing of <br /> underground tanks should he determined so Technician can be advised. r <br /> 9. The contractor must disconnect the electrical supply and remove the pump from the <br /> tank. The product line at the pump must also be disconnected or capped. This will <br /> insure no fuel can enter the tank while Technicim) is working. <br /> I0. The water table in the tank hole must be controlled of all times. The Technician is <br /> unable to remanu:facture interior or exterior surfaces if they are wet. Controlling the <br /> water table will also prevent the tank from Floating. <br /> I I., It may be required, Por Tanks to be entered to be triple rinsed prior to <br /> 'Technician's arrival.
