L .� <br /> `' 6.3 PPE Decontamination <br /> The SSO will determine the necessity for and le iel of decontamination appropriate to project tasks and <br /> L activities. Decontamination of PPE may be accomplished by personnel move through and strickly <br /> following separate defined step/stages established within the Exclusion Zone to reduce and remove <br /> `, contaminated protective garments and equipment. Decontamination stations may include the following <br /> procedures listed sequentially below. <br /> Stage No. l: Segregated Equipment Drop-Equi ment and consumables that require either disposal or <br /> special handling(e.g., special and/or equipmentdecontamination)shall remain in this area and be <br /> decontaminated, if appropriate, or disposed of with the excavated materials or other potentially <br /> impacted materials. <br /> Stage No. 2: PPE Decontamination-PPE that has been potentially impacted will be placed in 55- <br /> gallon steel drums or plastic liners and disposed f with the other solid wastes generated. <br /> Stage No. 3: General Field Wash -Personnel shall wash and rinse face and hands with soap and water <br /> before leaving the site and/or eating. If changinE of clothing is necessary, it shall be done at this time. <br /> ` Respirator decontamination, if required, shall include a wash with soap and water followed by a clean <br /> water rinse. <br /> ►• 7.0 EMERGENCY RESPONSE PROCEDURES <br /> 7.1 Physical Injury <br /> In the event of an accident resulting in physical 'njury, call emergency service personnel immediately <br /> and perform first aid commensurate with training and seriousness of the injury. Severely injured <br /> personnel are to be transported only by emergency service personnel and/or by ambulance personnel, <br /> unless a life-threatening condition is judged to exist that must be addressed immediately. <br /> The Project Manager is to be notified by the SSO, as soon after the injury as practical, regarding the <br /> nature of the accident.
