Because site conditions are subject to change <br /> and unforeseen conditions may arise, amendments or additions to this HASP may be <br /> needed during the course of the proposed work. Only the contractor, with the assistance <br /> of a Certified Industrial Hygienist or Environmental Consultant,may modify the HASP. <br /> WKA will make this HASP available for review by other persons and firms involved with the <br /> proposed site activities; however the other firms will be required to posses a separate HASP <br /> prepared specifically for their operations. This HASP will be available at the work site for <br /> review by WKA employees, employee designated representatives, Division of Occupational <br /> Safety and Health(DOSH) representatives, and to personnel of other federal, state, or local <br /> agencies with regulatory authority over the soil removal activities at the site. <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br /> The site consists of a narrow strip of land located along the southern side of the Stockton channel <br /> and the eastern side of the Mormon Slough, north of Weber Avenue in Stockton, California. The <br /> site is currently vacant and located with in the City of Stockton RDA's West End project area. <br /> The site is part of the City of Stockton's Marina-Promenade project and current plans include <br /> development of the site as public waterfront access to the Stockton Channel. <br /> Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPHd) and as motor oil (TPHmo), as well as the <br /> organochlorine pesticide, dieldrin were identified as the primary constituents of concern (COCs) <br /> during subsurface soil investigation activities conducted between February 2007 and November <br /> 2007. Soil containing these COCs will be excavated and removed to an off-site disposal facility <br /> to reduce the concentrations of COCl below their remediation goals established in the Remedial <br /> Action Plan (RAP) and approved by the Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB). <br /> 2.0 EXPOSURE HAZARDS <br /> The primary exposure hazard during site removal activities includes potential inhalation <br /> exposure to airborne particulates that may include COC concentrations. Secondary exposure <br /> hazards include the potential for direct dermal contact and ingestion of soil. The following sub- <br /> sections describe the potential exposure routes. <br />
