When temperature exceeds seventy degrees F,take frequent breaks. Have cool (Heat) <br /> water available and check pulse rate for thirty seconds or as early as possible in the rest <br /> period. If the pulse rate exceeds one hundred and ten beats per minute at the beginning of <br /> the rest period, shorten the work cycle by one-third. <br /> Wind resistant fabric should be worn if temperature is below zero degrees to thirty degrees (Cold) <br /> below zero,total work time is_hours. alternate—hours in and_hours out of low- <br /> temperature area. Below thirty degrees below zero,consult industrial hygienist. Drink warm <br /> fluids. <br /> ✓ E. Acoustical Hazards <br /> Use earplugs or earmuffs when noise level prevents conversation in a normal voice at a distance <br /> of three feet from the work area. <br /> F. 02 Deficiency- Confined Space Hazards <br /> Confined spaces include trenches,pits, sumps,elevator shafts,tunnels, or any other area <br /> where circulation of fresh air is restricted or ability to readily escape from the area is <br /> restricted. Consult regulatory agencies form the city and count for a health and Safety Policy <br /> prior to entering confined spaces. <br /> Obtain permit for confined space entry. <br /> Monitor 02 and organic vapors before entering. If values are exceeded,do not enter without <br /> appropriate Class Level gear. <br /> * 02 less than nineteen and 1/2 (19.5)percent or greater than twenty-five(25) percent. <br /> * concentrations of specific contaminants exceeding action level if all air contaminants are <br /> identified. <br /> * Total hydrocarbons greater than parts per million aboveground, if all air <br /> contaminants have not been identified. <br /> Monitor 02 and organic vapors continuously while inside the confined space. <br /> If value of Item 1 are exceeded,evacuate immediately. Record instrument readings. <br /> Use portable fans or blowers to introduce fresh air to confined spaces whenever use of <br /> respirator is required. <br /> Work involving the use of flame, aic, spark, or other source if ignition is prohibited within a <br /> confined space. <br /> G. Other Hazards <br /> List any other hazards such as radiation above 2mR/hr or more or any biohazards such as <br /> / poison oak, poison ivy, infectious waste, ticks, mosquitoes, or other disease carrying insect. <br /> NE=Not Expected <br /> 10 <br />
