RECEIVED MAY 0 6 2015 DECONTAMINATION ZONE: ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH An Equipment Decontamination Area must be established 'faR'dg"ff- OFifsion Zone. It may be part of the Exclusion Zone, outside of the zone, or both. Equipment, such as sampling devices, which must be decontaminated before being reused in an Exclusion Zone, may be decontaminated in the Exclusion Zone. Equipment, such as hand auger, will be decontaminated in a relatively uncontaminated area in a Contamination Reduction Zone before leaving the controlled area. Protective equipment worn in Exclusion Zones must also be worn in equipment decontamination areas. One or more areas shall be designated for decontamination of personnel. Because personal decontamination will be required before rest breaks, lunch, leaving the site at the end of the work shift, and entering the Support Zone to coordinate activities with other personnel. SUPPORT ZONE: A Support Zone is a relatively clean area where support equipment and facilities are located. The Support Zone is best if stationed upwind of the exclusion or disturbance area(s). 7.3 PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT (PPE): The level of protection while performing tasks at the site will be dependent upon known and/or suspected contaminants and job hazards to be encountered during the progress of the works. The level of protection, and any upgrading or downgrading, will be determined by the SSHO. The following personal protection equipment (PPE) is for all TAIT workers and subcontractors: • Safety Vest (at all times) • OSHA approved work boots (at all times) • Safety glasses (at all times) • Hard Hat (at all times) • Half or Full-face air-purifying respirators (as required) • Hearing protection (as required) • Nomex Coveralls or Tyvek suits (as required) • Work gloves (as required) • Nitrile gloves (as required) 11/07/2005 revision 5 11
