The work plan for soil
sampling beneath five underground chemical storage vaults at the Diamond Walnut
Growers (DWG) walnut processing plant at 1050 South Diamond Street in Stockton,
California, was submitted for initial review on 10 May 1988. Based on their review, the
SJLHD requested:
1) Presentation of diagrams showing the sample locations and the orientation
of the underground vaults.
2) Submission of a release form to the SJLHD authorizing the release of the
analytic data.
3) Submission of a special application to the SJLHD for drilling the proposed
angled soil borings.
4) Collection of four samples per vault and two samples per boring.
5) Use of an appropriate analytic technique for tHEylene glycol Oalyses.
6) Use of the Waste Extraction Test (WET) extraction for the initial metals
analysis.
Each of these items is discussed individually below, and revised sections, as they appear
in the enclosed final sampling plan, are underlined.
A Division o/AguaTierro Associates Incorporated
