WEISS ASSOCIATES VMj
1.2.2 Noise
Because of the confined work space, and the use of noisy equipment, workers will
wear ear protection, as necessary, when working.
1.23 Electric Shock
Electric shock is primarily associated with the use of electrical equipment and
contact with live electric lines. The electric equipment is constructed to guard against
electric hazards and will be in proper working condition. Severe electric shock can occur
if the mast of the drill rig contacts live electric lines. To prevent this, workers will
especially check for overhead power lines prior to raising the drill rig mast or moving the
rig. No additional precautions are anticipated to be necessary.
1.2.4 Exposure to Heavy Equipment
Moving parts and exposure to possible pinch points are hazards associated with
working around heavy equipment. Safety protection, including equipment guards, will be
used to mitigate this problem. During operation of any heavy equipment, all operators
and nearby personnel will wear hard hats and steel-toed shoes.
1.3 GENERAL SAFETY HAZARDS
Other possible safety, hazards include the potential for slipping, falling, head
trauma, etc. All personnel working in the area will wear safety goggles when on site.
First aid will be provided by DWG for minor incidents. If necessary, procedures outlined
in Section 4.6 will be implemented if emergency situations arise.
W PIF:\ALL\331D WG\931R1AP8.D OC:71-391-00:V1.036 Page 6
