The hole was repaired prior to sign off
I have trouble determining what to leave in the report. Basically, I leave all the discrepancies in the report and
then note they that they have been repaired after the final inspection. In the future, I can take the discrepancies
out of the report once they are addressed and inspected. Which way do you prefer?
John Strandberg
Strandberg Associates
650.329.8918
rwaterguy@rwaterguy.com
From: Garrett Backus [EH] [mailto:gbackus@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Thursday, April 14, 20113:10 PM
To: rwaterguy@rwaterguy.com
Subject: Chase Chrysler Jeep HW tank assessment
Hi John,
I've reviewed the hazardous waste tank assessment for 2979 Auto Center Circle, Stockton and noticed on page
27 that in the "visual inspection of containment area" section you state "The containment wall has a hole ..." How
is having a hole in the containment wall consistent with adequate secondary containment? If there is a hole then
the secondary containment is not of sufficient capacity and condition to work correctly.
Garrett Backus
Senior Registered Environmental Health Specialist
San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department
600 E Main Street, Stockton CA 95202-3029
telephone: (209) 468-2986
fax: (209) 468-3433
email: &backus@sJcehd.com
http _//www. s jgov.org/ehd/Programs/Others/uni..fied._h. tm
4/15/2011
