Subsurface Environmental Investigation September 22 , 1988
City of Lodi Corporation Yard, Lodi, California AGS 38064-1
subjective evidence of contamination (i. e. , obvious odor or
discoloration) nor did they yield positive readings on a
photoionizing hydrocarbon vapor detector.
The samples were collected from the base of the tank cavity by
excavating below the level of the former tanks with the
excavator. A clean brass sample sleeve was driven into the soil
in the excavator bucket immediately after it was brought to the
surface and the uppermost 6 inches shoveled aside. The sample
sleeve was then removed from the soil and sealed with aluminum
foil, plastic caps, and airtight tape. It was then labeled and
placed into iced storage. The samples collected for laboratory
analysis were designated S-12-T1 and S-13-T2A.
The locations of the samples within the tank cavities are shown
on the Generalized Site Plan. A Chain of Custody Record was
initiated by the geologist and accompanied the samples to the
analytical laboratory. A copy of this record is included in the
Appendix to this report.
4
A,o l ed GeOSysteins
