northside of the property line. A 5 gallon bucket of waste oil had
overflowed onto the dirt area of the planter.- An open 5 gallon
bucket of waste anti-freeze was sitting on the ground, as well as
waste batteries and freon containers. A van contained numerous
partially used containers of paint, some unlabeled, some hardened.
4-5 gallon buckets containing a hardened sludge (unidentifiable by
Mr. Jameel) were on the ground uncovered, exposed to the open air.
Mr. Jameel was advised that the paint, oil, sludge, anti-
freeze, freon containers, batteries, and oil saturated soil must be
disposed of in a proper manner via a licensed hauler. He was also
advised that proper labeling and records keeping is a necessity.
It is my opinion that both of these individuals are not
familiar with environmental law requirements. With this in mind,
I drafted and mailed the attached letters to each of the subjects.
I will make another inspection in the near future to determine if
the violations have been corrected.
Investigation continuing.
INVESTIGATOR: DEAN HENDRICK
DATED: 4-20-93
COPIES TO: DDA BROWN
TYPED BY: D.
