The Letter proposes changes to Monitoring
and Reporting Program(MRP)No. 96-816. Board staff has incorporated the Page into the
Report.
The pumping rates recorded on the monitoring well sampling information sheets often do not
correspond to the length of time the well is purged(i.e.,MW-7 on 20 March 2002). WFS must
ensure that sampling methods, as stated in Appendix A of the Report, are followed. The Report
proposes to install five new monitoring wells, but does not propose to submit a work plan to
conduct this work or include the necessary information for Board staff to approve the proposed
monitoring wells.
The Letter proposes to discontinue sampling from wells MW-3,MW-7,MW-8, and extraction
well E-2. Board staff concurs that wells MW-8 and E-2 are redundant, but wells MW-3 and
MW-9 are in locations that provide valuable upgradient and downgradient information. WFS
California Environmental Protection Agency
0 Recycled Paper
The energy challenge facing California is real. Every Californian needs to take immediate action to reduce energy consumption.
For a list of simple ways you can reduce demand and cut your energy costs, see our Web-site at http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/mgcb5
